First premiered at Tim Bergling’s set at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Avicii’s remix of Madonna’s “Girl Gone Wild” was quite the hit, with Live rips circling the interwebs. Now, Avicii’s decision to remix a Madonna track are slightly questionable since the “Queen of Pop” herself introduced the Swedish Sensation…. but I’m not here to talk about Madonna’s attempt to try and stay hip and trendy by associating herself with the EDM scene, nor do I wanna mention her drug reference (HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY) or even argue that this was Madonna biggest mistake in her career! No. We’re here to share with you this track, because it’s actually pretty good.
Avicii’s remix of “Girls Gone Wild” brings a slight breath of fresh air as he tones down on the piano high notes and brings in some scratchy synths into the melody. Avicii is known for his big room sounds and this is no exception as it made the UMF crowd move.
Avicii excuses himself for remixing a Madonna track with his performance. Madonna, on the other hand, has no place here. Leave EDM alone. Thanks
